The National Bylaws require for chartering a chapter the following:
4 of more advisors including, at minimum, two advisors from the faculty, staff,
or administration of this educational institution, one advisor representing
Scouting or youth services, and one advisor from the community.

I assume that the chartering requirements also hold for active chapters.

I have never heard of a national restriction on who the chapter may select
as being an advisor to their chapter as far as recent graduates are concerned.
I believe that chapters have the right to confer advisory membership on recent
graduates if they so choose. Undergraduate students can NOT be conferred
advisory membership.

I know there are forms that need to be filled out and sent to the National
Office in order for an advisor to be properly recognized. I believe it
is the same form as the pledge membership form and you just check a different
box. I forget if there is a fee associated with Advisor Membership but I'm sure
some other APO guru can reply on that..(Randy etc etc)
