The Brothers of Section 61 are proud to announce the Chartering of the
Fraternity's newest chapter on October 12, 2003. The charter for the Alpha Epsilon
Rho Chapter will be presented to an official of West Liberty State College in
West Liberty, West Virginia at a Sunday afternoon reception beginning at 2p.m.
Upon the recommendation of the National Membership and Extension Committee's
Charter Review Team and in anticipation of approval of the National Board of
Directors, formal announcements and invitations have been mailed to area
chapters and the parents/families of charter members. Additionally, any interested
Brothers may also attend the event, but are asked to R.S.V.P. their intent to
JimBeKind@aol.com. Dress is semi-formal (shirt/tie or dress), and there is no
cost to attend the reception.
The Initiation Ritual will take place at 1:00p.m. in the Athletic, Sports and
Recreation Center (A.S.R.C.) on the campus of W.L.S.C. The chartering group
consists of 19 actives, 6 advisors, and 5 honorary members. After the ritual,
the reception for the parents/families will allow the presentation of the
charter to the university, as well as the presentation of numerous "Thank You's"
to/from staff and students. Following the reception at 3p.m., the chapter will
conduct its first Pledge Ritual for the fall pledges, numbering approximately
ten students.
West Liberty State College sits on State Route 88 North, ten (very winding)
miles from US 70, just east of Wheeling, West Virginia in the Northern
Panhandle of the state between Ohio and Pennsylvania. Follow signs to historic
Ogelbay Park, home of the annual Holiday Lights Extravaganza -- and continue past
the park for another 4-6 miles -- the campus will be on your right.
Congratulatory messages for the group may be sent to JimBeKind@aol.com or
mailed to APO/P.O.Box 22111/Pittsburgh, PA 15222 for presentation during the
reception as well.
Brothers who can make the trip will experience one of the most exciting
events in the Fraternity, as the mission of serving others is extended to a new
campus. The "Founders" of Alpha Epsilon Rho hope to meet you then.
