Brothers:
I would like to invite those actives who are Chapter officers or who would
like to be Chapter officers to meet me in St. Louis July 18-20 at the Chapter
Program Workshop.
The CPW is an excellent way to learn new ideas and skills in becoming an
effective chapter officer.
The CPW begins on Friday night and ends around noon on Sunday. In between,
you'll explore the elements that contribute to a healthy and successful chapter:
planning, communications, recruiting, retention, brainstorming, delegation,
basic chapter operations, problem solving and more. Every chapter has strengths
and weaknesses, and a CPW is a chance for key leaders in every chapter to
come together, share experiences and explore possibilities. What's more, you
leave the CPW with a personal action plan that you devise to take you into the
next year as a leader in your chapter so that you can measure your progress.
While the program is geared towards the needs of Presidents, Vice Presidents
of Service and Vice Presidents of Membership, other officers and chapter
leaders can find it to be of great benefit, too. Each CPW is staffed by experienced
APO sectional, regional and national volunteer leaders, providing the
opportunity for you to get answers and ideas. But most importantly, you will have a
lot of FUN learning to be a better leader with your Brothers.
The cost is $50 for the weekend and it covers materials, two nights lodging,
four meals (three on Saturday and one on Sunday).
I would encourage all (and future) Chapter officers to try attend a CPW this
summer as it is a truly fabulous leadership development experience. If you
can't make it to St. Louis, there are other CPWs scheduled this summer in
Chicago; Atlanta; Newark, Delaware; and Stockton, Calif. The CPW is a national
program and the basic content is the same whether you attend the CPW in Delaware
or California (or anywhere in between).
