 I think this is due to the fact that Alpha Phi Omega is NOT a service
fraternity. We are a fraternity that promotes our foundations of
leadership, friendship, and service. There is a difference between the
two. The habit among both brothers and non-brothers is to emphasize
service the most out of the three, which I don't think there's anything
wrong with that. But I think Frank Reed Horton's original intentions were
to create a fraternity emphasizing all three principles equally, which was
why the Articles did not include "National Service Fraternity."
