All I can say is "interesting." It looks like somebody
decided to have a good time with some image processing
software -- perhaps even someone who is an art major.

And as "21st century"-ish as it looks, it actually
looks a lot worse than the official logo that we
currently have. The banner at the bottom no longer
looks like a scroll and all the accent work around the
shield has been completely lost in these new designs.

So, to the designer I say "nice pictures of our logo."
And I certainly hope there are no plans to have either
of these pictures supplant the existing logo...
(admittedly, I haven't read the entire thread yet)
