I am sorry, but this is where I must voice my opinion. The coat of arms should not be touched. Yes it has been changed once in its lifetime, but that was enough. The coat of arms along with many other things in the fraternity make the fraternity what it is today. Tradition, symbolism, call it what it whatever you wish, should not be changed on a whim. I realize that times change and some things need to be kept up with the pace of society, but the coat of arms, come on people that is ridiculous. Does no one respect the history of our fraternity? If asked, how many of you could honestly say that you knew the history of the founding the fraternity and even your chapter. I don't mean to digress, but I merely want everyone to realize the history and legacy that has been set forth over the past 77 years. A Phi O has one of the most elegant coat of arms out there. Take s!
ome time and surf the web for other fraternities and even sororities. I think that you would agree with me.

On a side note, even if the coat of arms did get changed, which it better not. I do not think that the fraternity is in any position to financial support such a change. We should not forget about the almighty dollar. Speaking of which, it kills me when I hear that the national fraternity is not financially well off. How many alumni do we have? Doctors, lawyers, millionaires, etc.? Come off of some of that money you are never going to spend and help the fraternity out. I know that as soon as I start making some money that is what I am going to do. Okay that is my two cents worth. Have a great day!
