In response to Robert Dean's e-mail. I tried sending this out earlier, but
our e-mail server crashed and I think the Outbound Queue was lost. (Darn
EDS...)
Jen Selby has the correct story. See my explanation below...

Not sure if anyone else has responded to this, my e-mail server here threw
up the "Blue Screen of Death" and had to be reconstructed with Tape Images.
Many e-mail sent to me are in limbo :(
The fee changes are as follows:
Pledge Fees - In effect SEPTEMBER 1, 2003.
Initiation Fees - In effect MARCH 1, 2003.
Realize that the whole point of staggering the effective date of Financial
Legislation versus having it take effect immediately is so that the National
Office can communicate the information to the general membership and update
the documentation (Initiation Forms, etc...) in a reasonable timeframe.
Bottom Line...Chapters need only worry about the increase for the Initiation
(Activation) ceremony, where Pledges become Brothers. (Although by all
means get Pledge monies in by Febuary 28th) :)

I did not see anyone respond to the question of the dates when the pledge
and other fees go up, so I hope I'm not repeating what's already been said.
*ONLY* the pledge fee will go up to $20 on March 1, 2003. Thus, it's best
to get your pledge classes for spring term regiestered with the national
office by Feb. 28th! Otherwise they will be charged the $20 fee instead of
the old $10 fee.
Activation fees and honorary fees go up (I believe) at the beginning of the
next fiscal year, since no date was specifically attached to them in the
legislation.
