[APO-L] Convention was awesome!

Convention was AWESOME! It was my first National Convention and it is the best
conference I've been to. The Mardi Gras theme made everything so much fun.
There was record attendance not only at the convention, but also at the service
projects and workshops. It is so neat to see so many people interested in
celebrating and improving the fraternity.
My favorite part of conferences is always meeting new brothers and seeing how
their chapters run. I came back with lots of new ideas for my chapter. Plus,
I got to meet my Pledge Class Namesake, Bob Barkhurst, when I randomly ran into
him while he was working in the APO store! Talk about neat.
I would also like to congratulate my chapter, Theta Upsilon, on earning the
2002 Dean Arno Nowotny National Service Award. It is our first time applying
for a national award. We had a lot of competition, which really showed me how
dedicated our fraternity is to improving its service programs.
I just want to say thanks to the committee who put this convention together.
Though the elevators in the hotel were notoriously slow, the convention and its
location was great. I can't wait for Denver 2004.
