Seeing old friends, being part of the huge fellowship amoeba (can't call
that thing a circle) during the Toast Song at the end of the Banquet, being
part of workshops that provoke thought and growth...

My home chapter usually does, but I'm not really current with them at the
moment, so I don't know. I was a staff liaison to a rechartering effort a
number of years ago, but I am not in touch with that chapter these days
either, so I don't know. The other chapter I worked with on staff has since
gone under, so that point is moot.

I've been to many more than one. I can't pick which parts I liked best.
I've been involved in the legislative process, in running and participating
in workshops, in helping coordinate formal and informal fellowship
activities. I hated having to miss this year.
Specific memories: Rowdy nights at the bar with a few of our more
distinguished alumni during some of their (and perhaps my) less
distinguished moments; spirited debates about the language of the Toast
Song, Hanukkah menorah mishaps (yes, the year the menorah caught fire, that
was my menorah); staying up all night talking with an old friend about
everything and nothing; arriving Xmas Day in Phoenix and finding that my
car rental had been incidentally upgraded to a convertible (gee shucks
darn) and then making a road trip with Deb and the Jeffs on the 26th to
Tucson and back in one 75-degree-day with the top down singing with the
radio at the top of our lungs...
