<P>Prior messages have debated about the "seperatist" sentiment from some chapters calling themselves "A-Phi-Que". Personally, I don't see it is any different than using other various ways of saying Alpha Phi Omega. Some chapters swear by "A P O", others by "A Phi O", and some by "A Phi Que", and still others by "A P Q". </P>
<P>I pledged a chapter that always said "A Phi O". After I moved to New York, i noticed that most, if not all, chapters used "A P O". I caught myself using "A P O" alot more since I moved, however I am still known to say "A Phi O" quite often.</P>
<P>No matter how you say it, we are still all Brothers in Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity. I could never consider a Brother a seperatist just because they use "A Phi Q" or "A P Q" or "A P O" or "A Phi O" (or for any number of reasons for that matter).</P>
<P>Many chapters pride themselves on different things. And in a sense, each chapter is a seperate piece of the whole, each with it's own unique customs and traditions. Surely nobody is proposing that each chapter is a "seperatist" because the Brothers are proud of their chapter.</P>
<P>I am very proud of both of the chapters that I am a part of. Each iscompletely different. And each is unique. It is at conferences and conventions that we can celebrate these differences and learn from each other.</P>
<P>I understand completely how frustrating it is when someone judges you and your chapter because of culture and traditions. And believe me, it can be frustrating when other Brothers view you and your chapter as abnormal. Sometimes Brothers can be downright nasty. (I am not claiming anyone in this discussion has been nasty in any sense.) But, isn't Alpha Phi Omega a collection of chapters that are different?</P>
