Gamma Theta along with vice-president John Wetherington was proud to present
the 28th National Alumni Distinguished Service Key last night to Robert D.
Amick. Mr. Amick has been involved with the Gamma Theta chapter ever since
he pledged 40 years ago. Bob exemplifies what Alpha Phi Omega means
everyday by demonstrating the 4 fields of service. He serves the campus
with his work at the University Police Department. For the fraternity he
has not only served as our advisory board chair, but has helped on the
sectional, regional and national level. Bob was instrumental in
re-chartering the mu pi chapter at a neighboring university. He has
conducted many seminars on scouting at sectional, regional, and national
conferences. Nationally, Bob has chaired reference committees, helped the
chapter with National Conventions, and organized National Board Meetings
held in Colorado. Bob serves the community as one of the top volunteers for
the Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross teaching first aid, CPR,
first responder, and disaster education courses. Bob truly shines with his
service to the youth. He is the local Boy Scout District's Exploring and
Venturing chair and serves as the advisor for many crews and
ships including the Gamma Theta Chapter. Bob has opened up many leadership
positions for our members within the BSA to keep our tie with the youth of
the BSA strong. Bob attends almost all of our meetings and most of our
events. He is a source of intelligence and experience, and for most of us a
father figure. Congratulations Bob and thank for the many years of hard
work and
dedication to our chapter, fraternity, and community.
