I can appreciate your point, but all the same I'd still prefer they end
up in Alpha Alpha's hands as they aren't just paddles with letters on
them, but are actually personalized bearing the names of several
brothers from that chapter's history. Those kinds of things you can't
just buy at a store.
Plus the kinds of people that she was getting inquiries from were quite
serious about the purchase. I don't know about you, but the thought of
a piece of fraternity history being used by a person who goes by the
moniker "spankmehard" is just a bit much. =)

of those "weirdos" that she complained about are actually serious and
would follow through with the auction if they did win it, especially
when it's getting to be over 50 w/shipping. And did they actually bid
or were they just sending her emails and messing around? (Drunk college
students like to play on ebay, and it could have been frat boys looking
up stuff with thier letters, hence stumbling upon our letters). Also,
keep in mind that anyone can go into any Greek store and make an APhiO
paddle or a paddle with whatever letters they really wanted (or in this
case have the letters imprinted into one) or pretty much any memorabilia
for that matter, with no proof that they are in that organization...we
had Tri-Chi (XXX) paddles made for my dorm's fake sorority frehsman year
and no questions were asked. But does anyone actually do that for an
existing organiz! ation that they are not in? Probably not...so I doubt
that these would fall into the "wrong hands."

offered $50 for the lot if she'd remove them.
I would really like to see these pieces of Alpha Alpha's history
returned to them. If any of you who use eBay more than I do could help
me keep an eye on these paddles I would greatly appreciate it. I
currently have the high bid, but with a little over two days remaining
in the auction anything can happen.
