Hello Brothers:
Today is the deadline for submitting your Chapter's report on National
Service Week activities and projects.
Because today is Sunday, I am extending the deadline until tomorrow,
Monday, Dec. 2, 2002.
If your Chapter did participate in National Service Week, please send
that information to the National Office via email to Susan Harris at
admin@apo.org, or fax it to the office at 816-373-5975.
If your Chapter did not do a project or participate in NSW 2002, please
submit that information as well to the National Office and let us know
why your Chapter opted not to participate.
I will be sending a report to the regional directors, section chairs and
the regional service chairs on Wednesday to let them know which Chapters
in their regions and sections participated.
Also, those Chapters who are planning to apply for the National Service
Award must submit NSW reports.
We have already received a number of reports thus far and I want to
thank those Chapters for participating in NSW and reporting early.
Finally, I would like to remind Chapters that Dec. 16 is the deadline to
apply for the Alpha Phi Omega Youth Service Grant program.
This program is a way for Chapters to receive funding to do a special
project to benefit at-risk youth. Chapters selected receive grants
between $100 and $500 to cover the expenses for the project.
We are looking to have several applications from each region and usually
approve grants for 15 to 18 projects each year. Applications were mailed
to each Chapter earlier this fall and can also be obtained from the
national Web site at www.apo.org.
Also, if your Chapter received a grant for 2002, your report was due on
Nov. 15. If you have not done so already, please send that report to
Susan at the National Office as soon as possible. Chapters who do not
send in YSG reports could be placed in the 'not in good standing status'
for failing to resolve an administrative/financial matter. The only
exception to this are those Chapters who were granted extensions.

final exams and enjoy the rest of the holiday season.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone in New Orleans in just a few
weeks.
