The Eastern Michigan chapter has just wrapped up our week long semester
blood drive. If you have not already heard, at this blood drive we also had
the Red Cross take blood for registration in the National Bone Marrow
Registry. We did this in honor of our brother, and former Sergeant at Arms,
who is in need of a transplant. She has been battling cancer for over a year
and a half. In response to our campus wide call 300 of our fellow students
gave thier blood to help our brother and perhaps others in need of this life
saving operation. Representatives of the Red Cross told us that the number
of people donating was overwhelmingly generous. The Red Cross has agreed to
defer much of the cost for these tests, but will still be charging us $25 a
test. We are elated by the charitable response of our campus. What we need
now is financial support. We need to raise an estimated $5,000 by October
31st. If you can help out, please send a check payable to Alpha Phi Omega
