Regarding scavenger hunts...

There was a sign shop about two blocks from where I used to live, they
sold Stop signs there. It is entorely legal to have one, the shopping
malls for example have them on private property.

As for scavenger hunts in general, cameras and now digital cameras have
made for the possibility of scavenger hunts that don't involve anything
more than handing out digital cameras. As for whether it contributes to
the pledging process, that is a different issue...

Regarding Branding. Of the groups that I have heard of branding (Almost
entirely the male NPHC groups or the non-NPHC male groups on HBCUs)
Branding is only done *after* the group considers you to be a full member
(note that in some of the NPHCs these days this is well after what
Nationals considers the intake process). So branding is more internally
controlled than may need external control.

Road Trips, again somethign that needs to be better defined. I'd include
"forced" in there, and with some of the chapters, the place where
initiations are held are far enough that if initiation wasn't being held
there, it might be considered a road trip.

These of course are APO's rules, if your school is stricter, go with the
stricter ones. I've heard of schools where the rules on what a pledge has
to do to initiate can be no stricter than what is required for a brother
to remain active....

Also, adjust to circumstances. If APO was allowed to stay as a student
organizations after all of your social greeks were expelled from campus.
Be on your best behavior. :)

Also, do we need to add to the pledge manual what pledges shouldn't do to
brothers?!?
