While I have not been involved with an extension efforts, this is what I would do in your place.
* Arrange a face to face meeting with the appropriate people on campus. Try to include a student who is interested in being involved with rechartering the chapter. If you're going back & forth with email, speak with them in person.
* Get copies of the National Bylaws, Pledge Manual, Membership Standards, Risk Management Policy, and National Pledging Standards, as well as the various brochures from National. Be prepared to give these to the university.
* At said meeting, get across how our membership policies ensure there is no hazing and the like. Try to educate these people that Greek Letter Orgs include more then just 'social' and 'honorary'. Most likely due to problems in the past with socials, they are probably hesitant to allow GLOs on campus. Once you show them our materials and show we do not engage in such behavior, they will probably be more open to allow APO to come back on campus.
