Just to throw more opinion/information in the pot.
The elimination of Annual Active Membership Dues (AAMDs) would do a
lot towards having chapters send in their Charter ReAffirmations on
time (along with Risk Management agreements and the rest). The number
of times that I have heard the excuse of "We would have sent them in,
but we didn't have the money" is too many to count.
The only criteria that would be eliminated for good standing is the
submission of AAMDs. This would not remove the requirement for
submission of Charter Re-Affirmations, number of registered advisors,
compliance with Risk Management or anything else.
Also, when we are doing the "this is about what the fraternity
receives" in AAMD calculation, we are assuming that not only is the
average brother active for 2 years, but that they submit AAMDs for
that time period as well (this is often not the case. If a chapter
does not file their ReAffirmation/AAMDs one year, the 2nd year
generally doesn't involve them filing 2 sets of AAMDs.)
