Brothers:
This information was forwarded to me by the Region VI Director and it
was something that definitely hit home for me.
I would ask that the message below be forwarded to all APO Chapters as
well as to Alumni Associations you might know who might lend a hand.
I will be making a $25 donation for a test and I would ask Chapters and
other individuals who are able to join me in making a donation by the
Oct. 31 deadline.
If everyone could pitch in a small amount or perhaps just cover the
cost of a test, we could help to save a Brother's life.
This is service to our Fraternity by helping a Brother in need. It is
also service to the Nation as some of the blood that was collected and
tested will be recorded with the National Bone Marrow Registry and could
be used to help someone who might live near you.
If you have further questions or need additional information, contact
Region 6 Director Michael Leahy at Region.6.Director@apo.org or Brother
Kate Jackson at Lambda Phi Chapter at AgitatoK8@aol.com.
Yours in Service and Brotherhood,
Ed Richter

> The Eastern Michigan chapter has just wrapped up our week long
>semester blood drive. If you have not already heard, at this blood
>drive we also had the Red Cross take blood for registration in the
>National Bone Marrow Registry. We did this in honor of our brother,
>and former Sergeant at Arms, who is in need of a transplant. She has
>been battling cancer for over a year and a half. In response to our
>campus wide call 300 of our fellow students gave thier blood to help
>our brother and perhaps others in need of this life saving
>operation. Representatives of the Red Cross told us that the number
>of people donating was overwhelmingly generous. The Red Cross has
>agreed to defer much of the cost for these tests, but will still be
>charging us $25 a test. We are elated by the charitable response of
>our campus. What we need now is financial support. We need to raise
>an estimated $5,000 by October 31st. If you can help out, please
>send a check payable to Alpha Phi Omega Lambda Ph!
>i Checks can be sent to:

> Eastern Michigan University
> Student Organization Center Box #7

> We appreciate any amount you can give. Please feel free to
>forward this to anyone you think might be of assistance.
