[APO-L] Section borders questions

Brother Mark Stratton is trying to get information on the sectional (and
regional) borders. Here is my response and we'd like to get more
information so he can use his GIS software to properly create maps..

Mostly with the individual Regional Directors. Let me sort of go through
the states with what I know (and this is mostly from memory. :)
Region I. Only unclear border is between 97 & upstate, border defined by
county with region I/II on national web site.
Region II. Division in upstate NY is along I-81, but I'm told one or two
are on "the wrong side of the line". For PA, Not sure if S90 is defined by
county, but don't think 91 & 92 are, from what I'm told there is a county
with a section 91 charter on the north end and a section 92 charter on the
south end.
Region III. The border between the halves of old 82 are on
http://www.sec81.org/split.html and the border includes county
boundaries, the interstates and a meridian.
Region IV. Kentucky is split on the timeline itself, I have no idea how
the border between Tennessee 70 and Tenn 68 is defined. (possible also
timeline)
Region V. No clue the actual border between 56 & 59. Ask someone local
(chair or RVRD). 62 has a specific list of counties in it and so does 64,
62's list is on the section 62 web site (geography entry I think). Dunno
where 64's is.
Region VI. Only non state border is the border between 48 & 49. list of
counties (4) in 49 in IL are on apo.org web site. *warning*, 48 is going
to split, and that may lead to a border change between VI & VIII being
proposed for convention.
Region VII. I have *zero* idea on how the borders inside Texas are
defined.
Region VIII. No idea how the 35/49 border is defined.
Region IX. now that Wisc is reunified, no non-state boundaries.
Region X. Clark County (UNLV) got moved from 4 to 2 a couple of years ago,
but the borders in CA (especially between 1 & 2) are sort of hazy.
recurrent rumor is that the border between 1 & 2 was defined using area
codes (shudder) and they moved one chapter into 1 in 1980 so convention
wouldn't be in a section with no chapters.
Region XI. I *think* the split in Idaho is the WA/OR border extended west,
but not sure. No clue on the split between 7 & 8 in Washington State.
That ought to cover it, as best as I can.

As the borders between 81 & 83 and 67 & 70 show, sometimes county lines
aren't used...
I'd love to know what you find out.
