Gamma has the Neophyte program (and yes, I know other chapters use this
term for something else). During Pledge Selection at the end of the
semester, plegdes are voted on by the Brotherhood to become brothers,
neophytes, or asked to pledge again. The Neophyte program allows a pledge
to keep everything (s)he has already accomplished, but several more
requirements are added (such as running a pledge meeting [after clearing
what will be covered with the Pledgemaster], as well as others). The
neophyte has some of the same rights/responsibilities as a brother (ie, can
be a Big, can serve on the Pledge Committee), but not others (cannot be an
officer, cannot vote). The stats on how many neophytes actually complete
the program are unknown, but I finished it in Spring '98.
