I think we need to be cognizant the Boy SCouts are a part of the model that Frank Reed Horton used for his Standard of Manhood that we have applied now more universally to a co-ed APO. To simply neglect that portion of our founding, regardless of our current status as a Separate Organization and with different Bylaws and such, is unwise.

I've probably said that a thousand times here, so I am not going to berate the point: chapters should be aware of our history, and use it to the ends they see fit. If they don't establish links with the Scouts, that's fine if their chapter works. If a chapter finds it's not working, it might be wise to re-establish links with a Scouting movement as a chance to re-energize their service and fellowship program. However, without understanding some of the knowledge of our history, the links may seem alien and uncomfortable. We should all be informed, and then make the correct decision for us.
