I find that Chapters that do NOT have a close tie with a scouting
background (like..no one who was part of the BSA, or wants to) do not tend
to have that history as part of the Pledging process. I mean, I
personally would like to see more history and show the connections with
Scouting in my Chapter, me being an Eagle Scout and all, but that's
something that must be slowly worked in...I would suggest that Chapters at
least have a full pledge class meeting/lesson focused on the Scouting
aspect. I know that some Chapters don't even bring up the BSA, which is
apalling (to me), but it's part of what is the culture of the Chapter.
