On Amtrak fares remember that they are bucketed. In other words price
depends on how many slots remain. each subsequent buyer pays more on
accommodations. Rail Sale fare can be really low but are catch as catch can
and you risk not getting a ticket at all since the rail sales come up fairly
near departure dates. Examples currently available include Philadelphia to
Los Angeles one way for $91.60.
