For those of you who think that our National bylaws / membership
requirements lay downrules that are too stringent, I give you the pledging
standards for APO-Philippines.

THE STANDARD TRAINING PROCEDURE (STP)

WHAT IS STP?

The STP IS THE Step-by-step Procedure by which a regularly enrolled
college student in good standing can apply for membership in ALPHA PHI
OMEGA. There is no other authorized program in the admission of aspirants
into the organization. Anything that is OUTSIDE the STP is considered
unauthorized, irregular, clandestine and illegal, therefore sanctionable
by the rules of the Fraternity and the laws of the land. There are seven
(7) basic stages of the STP, covering from start to finish, the following
areas:

1.=09Screening and Orientation
2.=09Integrated Pledge Ritual
3.=09Development Period
4.=09Final examinations
5.=09Observation Period
6.=09Final Deliberation
7.=09Integrated Initiation Ritual

OBJECTIVES OF THE STP

1.=09To provide an inter-active and reciprocal form of admissions program
for candidates.
2.=09To emphasize more on constructive services and academic proficiency as
a requirement for membership.
3.=09To establish regularly and uniformly in the processing of candidates.
4.=09To develop candidates into mature and responsible individuals, ready
to assume higher and more complicated roles in their respective
communities and in society as a whole.
5.=09To train candidates to work closely as a team to realize that
effective teamwork can accomplish so much than solitary effort.
6.=09To rekindle the scouting spirit valued so much by our founders.
7.=09To encourage leadership and to transform this principle into a common
virtue among its candidates.
8.=09To promote friendship, true and lasting, and to inculcate among our
candidates the unbreakable bond that exists in Alpha Phi Omega which must
extend beyond our chambers to the rest of mankind.
9.=09To instill discipline in each individual candidate and in the class he
or she may belong to _ as a way of life and as a personal rule and guide.
10.=09To put importance on the teaching of positive values, character
building, leadership training and moral and spiritual upliftment.
11.=09To develop rites, rituals, ceremonies and all other activities
related to the initiation or admission of candidates in full conformity
to the laws of the land.
12.=09In sum, to firmly lay down an uncompromising policy which strictly
enforces a humane, rational, productive and relevant system to admit and
process candidates for membership in ALPHA PHI OMEGA.
