Hello everyone,
As mentioned in an earlier post the database that feeds the backend of
the "Organization" section of aphio.org is moving from off-server to
on-server. And that it would really improve things. Well it just
occurred to me, I need some help.
One of the things that will be happening with this change is that the
pages won't stop at the section level anymore, pages will be generated
for chapters and alumni associations too. Cool, eh?
Well we've never done this before, so what all kind of information
should be included is kinda up in the air at the moment. That's where
I need ideas, ideas and more ideas. Here let me get you started.
Things we were already going to include:
A. Status change dates, i.e. when chapters originally chartered, went
inactive, became pgs, rechartered, schools closed, etc.
B. Latitude/Longitude coordinates, which we hope to be able to do some
really cool stuff with.
C. Event, Web Site and Email Lists info, just like for sections and
regions
D. Whether a chapter is Coed, all-male or all-female (when we start
including info on Filipino chapters this will be more useful than in
the US)
E. Meeting time and place.
There's probably some others and I haven't even touched alumni
associations here.
If you have ideas of things you think would be cool for the new db,
please send them in email to newdb@aphio.org
Please do not send specific info for your chapter, we're only looking
for categories of information not the info itself.
