---------------------------- CUT HERE ------------------------------
In recent weeks a topic of conversation on APO-L has centered on the changes
occurring on the web site apo.org. As with all issues, the Fraternity
leadership wants to receive constructive comments, which will help improve
communications throughout the Fraternity.
Over the past year and a half, the volunteer leadership and National office
staff have been engaged in upgrading our ability to better utilize the
Internet in the operation of the Fraternity. Throughout this process the
primary focus has been to develop a new site that would allow for easy and
continuous updating by the National office staff to insure that the content
on the site is always accurate and relevant. What now appears as the NEW
apo.org is the nearly completed phase I of the program.
Unfortunately, the NEW apo.org went on line too quickly and there was a
failure to communicate the overall good intentions of this change. We
apologize for the lack of communication to explain the change correctly. We
will prepare a formal announcement of the site as the new school year begins.
Our National President Jack McKenzie appointed a committee to explore and
plan the long-term strategy for the Fraternity's web site. This process will
include the use of volunteers working with the National staff. Those
Brothers originally appointed to the committee were Bobby M. Hainline, Chair;
and John Wetherington, Mark Dearing, Reuben "Fuzz" Hochstedler, Patrick Burke
as members and Kara Thornton as an advisor to the committee.
We all agree that we want what is best for this Fraternity. Rest assured
that future content and additions to the NEW apo.org will take into
consideration the thoughts and recommendations of everyone who wishes to add
to this process.
We, as a committee, are interested in your comments and ideas, which will
help us improve our communication within this arena. Your comments and ideas
may fall into different avenues; content/ functionality or format/layout
related. Please direct this information to webmaster@apo.org.
The committee would like to thank those who have already commented on the new
web site and also recognize the fact that many of those suggestions have been
incorporated into the web site.
Last but not least, the committee would like to recognize and thank "Fuzz"
and his web team for launching the Fraternity into this arena and look
forward to an exciting future in this regard. Without a doubt the apo.org
web site will continue to be an essential tool as this Fraternity approaches
the new millenium.
Respectfully Submitted,
Bobby M. Hainline
