I'm sorry. Someone asked for the results from my original question (How many
chapters that were Explorer Posts went with Venturing and how many stayed as
Explorer Posts?) and I misplaced the address to respond to, so everyone get o
hear what few responses I had.
Their note that we were encouraging Venturing overall instead of Exploring
was encouraging. The reason behind it was not, both Explorer Posts and
Venture Crews are covered by insurance. Not exactly the same, but both are
covered.
In the end I got only three responses regarding chapters going to be either
Posts or Crews when Boy Scouting split the Exploring program in two.
One area said there were three Posts they know of, all planned to go to
Venturing, only one actually rechartered, and the other two were units on
paper only anyways, apparently.
Another response was that they didn't keep track.
The third response was that they had gone to Venturing. This was mainly
because they did a lot of work with the local BS council.
Don't know how many were registered that way nor can I get a feel for which
way they went when the change came. Personally, if they wanted to stick to
their roots and the original Boy Scouting that APO grew from, Venturing would
be the logical choice.
If anyone made what they feel is the wrong choice, feel free to let me know,
we'll see what it takes to get you back on the other side of the tracks.
