On May 16, 1959, Alpha Phi Omega National President William S. Roth presented
the charter of Mu Tau Chapter, the 305th chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, to West
Virginia Institute of Technology, Montgomery, West Virginia. Over 50 charter
brothers' names are on the charter, and now after 40 continuous years of
service, over 1000 men and women have been initiated into the chapter.
I initially became involved in Alpha Phi Omega as a brother of Mu Tau
Chapter, pledging in the Fall of 1985 and being active through the Fall of
1989. Alpha Phi Omega took a special place in my heart during my experiences
as an active brother in Mu Tau Chapter---a special place that, to this day
fuels a burning desire to stay involved.
Even though the actual anniversary date is several days away, the chapter
held their anniversary banquet this past weekend. In the spirit of
Leadership, Friendship and Service, please join me in wishing a Happy 40th
Anniversary to Mu Tau Chapter!
