They have to have their charter application approved and a date set. At
this point the National Office has not received such an application for
them. Only once a charter (in this case a recharter) has been approved by
the National Board may brothers be brought into the chapter. Normally the
approval process from submition of the charter application until the
National Board reviews it takes about 6-8 weeks. (The various pieces of
the application get reviewed by different committees on the national
Membership and Extension committee). Charters can be presented by any
member of the national board, but are normally done so by the Regional
Director of that region.

Since Tn state has only about 5 weeks left in the semester, if an
application were submitted now, they would probably not receive final
permission until after school let out.

Find out when the charter application will submitted. The person who would
be most appropriate to talk to about their status is probably the Region
IV director Mike Nathan <mnathan@worldnet.att.net>

In the sequence of events in the Charter Organization Notebook it is quite
clear that the last activity is submitting a charter application. This
includes everything from signing the National Pledging standings to
writeups ofall of their service projects to submitting the groups bylaws.
Until this is submitted and approved they haven't done everything.

Lack of a chartering application.

They need to submit the application first. My guess on schedule is that if
they are ready to submit their chartering application (and since sectional
chair and Regional director approval letters are needed they have to talk
to them first) that they do so and pick out a weekend in September.

PG status lasting for a year is a little long but not extremely so. The
regional director attended their PG ceremony and has been definately
involved in following the group's status.

Needs a final approval all the way up at the National Fraternity. The RD
and SC submit final approval as part of that application.
