This is what our chapter has planned for the tragedy at columbine high
school. . .something that has especially affected our area in Colorado.
If any other brothers from other chapters would like to make either paper
oragami cranes or quilt squares we would love to add them, the more the
better. the quilt squares will be 8 square inches with a 6 square inch
decorating area (in other words, cut an 8 inch square and leave at least
an inch on each side.) paper cranes can be any size. This is something
that people can do during a meeting or during their own time, individually
or as a chapter.
If your chapter would like to add to our project, send squares/cranes to :

University of Colorado at Boulder
Campus Box 207
Boulder CO, 80309

or e-mail us at alphio@ucsub.colorado.edu if you have questions.
leave return info so we can send info on when it will be constructed and
eventually send pictures of it when we're done!

Thanks

Subject: A WISH FOR COLUMBINE

Due to the tragedy that hits so close to home, we would like your help on
sending a wish to Columbine High School. . .

There is a Japanese legend that says folding 1,000 cranes (senbazuru)
pleases the gods and grants you one wish.

We would like to send as many wishes as possible to those touched by the
violence that hit Columbine High School. We are organizing tables
around the CU campus to collect paper cranes to send to Columbine.
Supplies and instructions will be available at the tables. In addition,
there will be instructions located on the web at

http://ucsub.colorado.edu/~alphio/columbine/

In addition to making paper cranes, we will also have squares of fabric
available to write messages. These squares will be formed into a large
quilt that will be given to the students and community of Columbine High
School.

We will have booths available Thursday, April 22, Friday, Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesday, April 28 in the UMC Loggia and the Engineering Center.
Please come by and show your support, and please send this message on to
everyone you know.
