well,
the way our system works, if it was the president, it follows the order of
succession as stated in the bylaws. if it is another position, someone is
appointed by the president as an interim chair. if the president chooses
to hold elections, then the interim chair is replaced permanently. if the
president chooses not to hold elections, then the interim chair assumes the
position (wow that sounds bad) for the rest of the semester. However, last
semester, our pledgemaster had to resign because he withdrew from school.
in that instance, the assistant pledgemaster (yes we're big enough to need
two) was automatically named pledgemaster, and noone was appointed
assistant (altho in my opinion, someone should have been). that was only
for the last 4 weeks of pledging.
