Hello all, this weekend I was sitting and thinking about how lucky I am to
have the life I have and I am thankfull for my life as it is no matter the
ups and downs. During this time I have also had 3 ideas for service related
projects that would need a lot of patience, manpower, and commitment.
1) The American Albanian communities have been searching for loved ones who
are refugees using newpaper and television as their main source of
information. A) Is there anyone here who is willing to/can dedicate the
time to contact the Red Cross for a registration list of refugees names and
towns to build a reference database so that information can be found easily?
B) Is there anyone here who once a database is developed willing to help
enter hundreds on names into said database?
2) The refugees are sleeping on the ground for the most part and have only
the clothes on their backs. The Red Cross and the NATO allies have only a
limited supply of Tents and food needed for this type of mass flight. Can
we raise money for shelter supplies, food, and clothing or start a number of
natinwide drives to collect such things?
3) Though it may not come down to it the possibility remains that members of
our armed forces may lose their lives in this conflict. In thinking over
our past and the number of servicemen and servicewomen that we have called
brothers I was wondering if Alpha Phi Omega could donate to or start a
Widows and Orphans Scholarship fund for service people killed in the line of
duty?
I may be a bit nuts, hell I may be completely crazy, but I would appreciate
any input that you the brotherhood would have on these ideas.
