About the Chapter DSK's... At Alpha Gamma (Purdue), They are awarded
twice a year at the banquets (end of the semester). At the beginning of
the semester any brother can submit a nomination of another brother.
The nomination would include an essay on why set brother deserved the
DSK. i.e. an explanation of how set brother exemplified the three
cardinal principals - leadership, friendship and service. At the
Overnighter (a semi-annual retreat in the middle of the semester), the
active and alumni DSK holders will gather and read over the nominations
and choose who will receive the DSK. There is no limit on how many can
receive the DSK, in a semester. I have seen anywhere from one to five.
I don't know whether this is a good or bad way to do this, but
nominations are encouraged and it promotes really getting to know your
other brothers in the chapter.
