While I am neither homosexual, nor homophobic, I am deeply offended by
this post. What brothers (or anyone, for that matter) do in bed
should remain in bed. I don't think ANYONE (gay, straight, whatever)
should parade around showing off their sexuality. I think it would be
bad PR for any chapter if a certain group of brothers gave the
impression that sex was at the top of their mind all the time.
Comments such as this appear to be from some sort of pervert who I
would be embarassed to call a brother.

Both of the chapters that I have been part of (ABO at Old Dominion,
and currently ADI at VCU) have had at least one brother who is a
homosexual. They were never in the majority, but in both cases the
brotherhood seems to accept them, does not persecute them, and does
not give them any "special treatment" either. I personally haven't
had any problems with any homosexual brothers, and in most cases, I
even find some of them to be some of the more active, friendly, and
personable brothers in the chapter!

I can see how some chapters may have a problem, particularly in the
deep south (wasn't it Georgia Southern University). The deep south
tends to be more racial territory, and not only that is pretty much
spoonfed a heck of a lot of prejudice from birth! They are not very
accepting of anyone who is not a white straight male! So I can see if
the Nu Epsilon chapter has acquired a fairly large homosexual
population, that this could cause some PR problems as far as rush is
concerned (good ol' straight southern boys are not going to want to
rush a gay frat)! Now of course, I have never been to the school, so
I really don't know EXACTLY what is going on. I would suggest to any
chapter though, that I would leave sex out of any PR or rush program,
either gay or straight sex. We have to remember that Alpha Phi Omega
is a National Service Fraternity (emphasize on Service), and not a
National Sexual Fraternity (contrary to what a lot of brothers would
love to believe ;-) ...
