This concerns me... and here is why...

Since when was the power of free-speach taken away and APO become a military
organization? So do SC have to ask permission of the RD to "speak freely,
sir?" Since when did serving in voluntary positions become a job? John, what
was the reference that created this policy? Why was it proposed? Being out
of the APO loop since May 1997 I have missed this change until your post.

Even at work I can disagree with my supervisor. I would not do it in a public
forum but I can still disagree. So you if you and your RD do not agree with
something you are to just suck it up? Disagreement is not a bad thing. The
way that it is presented could be however, and that is where maturity,
leadership, and diplomacy come into play.

I guess I need to wait and see how this was written and why such a policy was
approved.

Something like this sounds to me like control-freak type of policy. Sorry to
the person who made the proposal, but that is my honest appraisal of this.
When we talk about leadership, the ability to disagree is crucial and MUST not
be taken away.

So if someone could enlighten me as to why such a policy was approved I would
greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Pete Fagan
