No, that's not so bad.  The situation that I was aware of was that the
pledges didn't even know until a week ahead of time, and THAT wasn't
fair to the pledges, especially when it was on a weekend, and if they
had other plans, they had to be cancelled.  Luckily, that situation no
longer exists.

But seriously, if the pledges have a few weeks warning, that's cool.
"Surprising" them with a ceremony isn't.
