We always give out bids, because we never know how many people are going
to pledge and we want to make sure that there is at least a few people
at the pledge ceremony. The bids are usually printed on Chapter
Stationary and Signed by the President, SVP, and MVP. We usually ask
that they RSVP and lets us know if they are going to be at the ceremony.

We do this, because it gives the rushee a written statement that we want
them to pledge. It reaffirms our interest in them as a potential Brother
of the chapter. It outwardly shows our confidence in them. It gives
them something to hold on to and cherish, for sentimental value.
Believe me I still have my bid I was given in Spring of 1996.
They can also show it off to there roomate and or friends in their dorm
as publicity for next quarter or semesters rush.

Just my dollars worth of info,
