Alpha Delta Iota Chapter (Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond VA)
employs a simple bid system. Prospective members are introduced to the
chapter and the fraternity. If they decide APO is something worthwhile enough
to pledge, then they are required to perform 5 hours to receive a bid. No
voting in is done, as VCU regards that as a selective membership policy.

ADI chapter typically uses the first two or three weeks of the semester for
rush and information. The third or fourth week is Hours Week, and this is
when the prospectives earn their 5 service hours. Once they earn 5 hours,
they are called and invited to undergo the pledge ritual.

The reason for having the 5 service hour requirement is simple. Show us that
you are committed to cause of volunteer service.

Incidentally, ADI is holding a pledge ritual this Saturday, 30 January 1999,
in the Business Building room 1118 at 6:30pm. We welcome all brothers to
attend the induction of the 14 pledges of the Katie L. Hannah Pledgeclass!
