This is the best reason to keep it at Christmastime. Having to
coordinate vacation schedules over the summer months, so that all the
various alumni staff can attend, would be a LOT harder than trying to
coordinate over Christmastime, which more of us get off (except for
accountants dealing in Fiscal Year = Calendar Year).
Measured against each other, the summer conference is a bigger
imposition than a Christmas conference for most brothers...*especially*
the alumni who help implement the by-laws which the active members have
ratified.
Besides, if you moved it to the summer, how could you celebrate the new
year with gobs and gobs of brothers from across the country??
