I would like to note that, if I am mistaken, proposals can come in
anytime up until the deadline. Why then wait? Many chapters start
winding down the spring semester. This would be a good time to make
proposals, even if not mailed until September, nothing says that you
cannot start to put things together.
The end of the spring semester is a good time to conduct the CPPC for
the next academic year. (A good transition from previous officers to
new officers.) In a convention year it is easy to place a section into
the CPPC to discuss the plans for the National Convention.
I saw in the chapters I worked with in the past and it seems to still be
going strong that planning does not take place until September. It is
always best to be planned (at least big events) 1 semester (term)
quarter, in advance. My question again is "Why wait until September?"
I have even heard of chapters that come together in the summer to lay
out the upcoming academic year. This is an excellent opportunity.
Again, just my thoughts.
