While I think the idea of a live webcam at the convention would be
really cool, the logistics of the project seem (at this time) to be
well beyond the reach of a volunteer organization such as APO. If if
we could do live video over a 56K modem (which is possible, just not
very good quality), I think it would be more worthwhile to have a
brother using that same 56K modem equipped laptop (several brothers I
know have laptops that could very well be used) to upload actual text
information and still images (from digital cameras) to the APO
national convention website. A project such as this could be done in
little time (there is not much of that at nationals) with a very low
expenditure (if any). I myself have a digital camera (and will more
than likely be at the next convention) which I can use to take
pictures, all that I would need would be a computer to upload the
pictures to!

The other thing about a live webcam is that is could easily just
become a, "technological toy," with brothers lining up just to wave
into the camera and say, "hi!" to the world! It would be fun, but too
expensive to just have a neat toy, unless some brother with money
laying around in his/her pockets wants to take up the project!

Just my 2 cents worth,...
