A hearty "Well Done!" to all the delegates who attended the National
Convention, especially for their willingness to tackle the controversial
issues we've been debating over the past few months. Some highlights for
those who haven't heard yet...

...the proposed Toast Song amendment (to change "Men of" to "[Men of/True
to]") did not pass.

...the convention approved a resolution (by a 325-61 vote) that affirms the
decision of the 1976 convention to:
        1. Allow chapters to admit women as brothers.
        2. Require that petitioning groups seeking a new charter or a re-charter
        be co-educational.
        3. Allow chapters active at the 1976 convention to remain all-male until
such time as they admit women or the chapter is declared inactive.

...the 2000 National Convention will be held in Philadelphia.

...Jack McKenzie was elected as President, and John Wetherington as
Vice-President.

...Region X was divided into 2 regions, creating an 11th region.

I am still trying to recover from lack of sleep, and I hope that everyone
makes it back safely from Minneapolis.
