Hello everyone...
A brother from the Delta Upsilon chapter at East Stroudsburg University of PA
has emailed me with disturbing news... The chapter is almost dead, there is
one Brother left (and actually due to administrative issues on the chapter's
behalf, she is not even really a Brother in the stand point of being
registered with the national office.)
I have given all of the suggestiong I can from the standpoint of being the
former Section 91 Chair and an alumnus of the chapter. I am asking, on the
chapter's behalf, for other suggestions on revitalizing the membership. I
hope that the diversity of people on this list can offer some new and exciting
suggestions that she can use to bring back this chapter from the clutches of
inactivity. To give some back ground on ESU... a public supported institution
of the State System of Higher Education in PA of about 5500 full time students
with 2500 living on campus. Right now, Greeks as well as other Student
organizations are experiencing lower membership numbers than in the past,
although this trend is changing for the campus as a whole.
If you could either email me, pafagan@aol.com and I will pass the suggestions
along or email her directly at milessa@hotmail.com (melissa mattson), that
would be greatly appreciated. Again I am hoping that with the diversity of
membership recruitment techniques out there, there is something that she can
use at ESU to bring the chapter back.
Thank you.
in LFS,
Pete Fagan
