While I was in the Nu Mu Chapter, we never had a minimal amount of
service hours per quarter for actives. We didn't want it to be a factor in
deciding to stay with APO or not. Also, because some brothers had jobs,
internships, school work and relationships, to worry about, so its no point in
forcing someone to do so many hours. We did and continue to do thousands of
hours per quarter with a core group of 30-40 actives. Averaged out, it
roughly 40 to 50 hours of service work per active at a minimum. We have our
pledges design a service project and they must complete 20 hours of service
work with their own project counting if they want it too. And we decided not
to deal with active and associate labels. Our theory is if you're doing
service work, you're active.

The statements above, reflect my memory of the chapter, thusly I do not speak
for Nu Mu.
