O.K. guys, I hope that no-one else from Epsilon Lambda posted this
already, but this is making me crazy! We do not require our actives to do
service hours. Our pledges have about an eight week pledge peroid (the
school is on quarters instead of semesters) and they are required to
complete 40 hours of service, including 25(ish) for specific jobs or
activites and the rest are miscellanious. They have to plan and attend a
class project, and a pledge-active project. They are also
expected to earn 10-15 fellowship hours. Actually, they do LOTS of
other stuff too, but that has no baring on this conversation.
        Do we get anything done if our actives aren't required to do
anything? You bet your butt we do! The last information we compiled
(spring of 98) showed that in a year 25 actives (that's an average)
completed 3500 man hours of service. When I pledged, I have about 90 hours
of service by the time that I reached voting meeting! What can i say;
we're obsesed!
