it is most definetaly not dictated by national bylaws. although at
nationals they run by some version of roberts rules of order. Mostely
Skippy style
Depending on chapter size and attitueds roberts rules of order are more
for larger chapters. Bob's rules of order can be gotten by with in a
smaller chapter. Most chapters fall somewhere inbetewen.
Possible solutions as i am clueless as to exactely how your meeting work.
loosen the top button of the parlimentarian or presidents shit.
Maybee alowing other people to talk than just officers(or forcing others
to give sub reports)
Good of the chapter/pass the gavel where every brother gets about 30seconds
to tell the others what is up or down in their life.
sunshine box an anounomous box that people can choose to be annonomous and
say what is on their mind.
Somebody with a positive sense of humor.
Not giving reports in Dull monotone voices (buhler, buhler)
If you are entusiastic about something it will rub off on others even if
they are sticks in the mud.
Some chapters exchange small 5dollor or less gifts ones in a while although
if it is done every week it gets old.
Candy Candy Candy. May get some people energized if given out before the
meeting so they seem enthusiastic.
I can't think of any others.
Quick short distractions.
All of the have the potential of helping or hurting you chapter depending
on chapter size/implemantation.
