Alpha has gone inactive more than once. It was reactivated between the
86 and 88 Convention (I understand that when it was announce at Roll
Call in 88, it got a hearty welcome back). It went inactive sveral years
later (I can't remember if it was at Boston, but I'm 99% sure it was
dead by Dallas in 94.).
I don't know any specifics of it's history (other than the founding), or
how the efforts to recharter it are going.
