I think that designating, "Men of/True to," would work just fine on
the chapter level, and is really the only way to really satisfy
everyone involved here. We are maintaining the, "tradition," of the
fraternity (preservation), as well as keeping up with the changing of
the times and the overall membership of the fraternity.
The only real problem is that SOMETHING definitely needs to be done in
regards to what to sing at sectional, regional, or national
conferences. It would not be very harmonious to have two different
groups singing two different things in one toast circle (especially
with the amount of brothers at nationals). For conferences, it may
just be better to stick with the traditional, "Men of," as that was
the, "original," version, and we all know it. I think most people can
respect the toast song enough to sing it the way it has been agreed
upon by the majority in attendance at the conference, just as it is
generally accepted that brothers visiting another chapter sing the
toast song the way the chapter sings it, leaving out any chapter
specific, minor toast song changes (adding a third verse, or adding a
line or two at the end). Therefore, it would probably be better to
leave the toast song as, "Men of," in the cases of national, regional,
or sectional conferences.
