I found ronald-ann dead at about 11 AM. The monitor was completely
dark, and the LEDs were not lit, yet the system was turned on and
plugged into an otherwise active power strip. There were people
working in the machine room (presumably on the new security system);
however, they said they weren't there at 9:30, they hadn't plugged
anything into any outlets inside the machine room (although they had
done some drilling), and hadn't unplugged any cables (but they did
move a few, maybe 5 or 10 feet in front of ronald-ann).
Evidently, there was some type of problem getting power to the machine.
Trying to reseat the power cord in the same outlet had no effect
(i.e., the LEDs did not come on). Moving the cord to an empty outlet
on another power strip also had no effect. Moving the cord to a
different outlet on the original power strip finally got the LEDs lit;
however, they stayed at 88 for over 10 minutes. I then moved the cord
to a third outlet on the original power strip; the machine seemed to
boot OK at that point.
The system appears to be up and running normally at the moment.
Possible causes might include: bad power cord, damaged power strips,
intermittent failure of power supply, etc.
