Today I salvaged the partitions on rosebud and then rebooted the machine
to correct pty lossage. The salvage went well---as far as I can tell,
nothing important was lost. The total down time for the salvage and
reboot was about 20 minutes, and I didn't hear any complaints over
zephyr, so I assume that few users were affected.
A 20000K file full of nuls named "SPACE_FILLER" has been placed in
/vicepa and in /vicepb on rosebud, in order to prevent problems which
occur if the partitions fill up. These files can be removed temporarily
to gain space to move or backup volumes, as long as care is taken not to
fill the partition while doing so.
